Well, we got kicked off the ship around 9 a.m. today on June 29th.
There was express walk off, however the line was so long, I can't imagine they got off much earlier than us from the Disney Magic. Disembarkation was from Deck 1 forward into the port.
There is no customs at the Copenhagen port. However, once you get in line there are three exits out: Disney Transportation, Private Transportation and Taxis. We get in the long line for taxis and the wait is about 30 minutes to get to the front of the line for our taxi.
We are headed into the city to the Hotel Danmark, a quaint little hotel which is just around the corner from Tivoli Gardens. It is raining this morning. The taxi fare from the ship to the hotel is $35 US funds once converted. All the taxis take credit cards.
If you are departing on the DCL transport to the Blu Royal Hotel or Tivoli Hotel there is only one scheduled departure at 9 a.m.
We get to our hotel around 10 a.m. but our room is not ready so we store our luggage and wander around Copenhagen checking out the town square and shopping and of course going to the Disney Store. They are having a huge clearance sale so I buy some clothing items for future gifts which will be easy to carry home.
It is raining on and off, however, just inconvenient enough that when you are outside you need your rain jacket on, but once inside a store it is too hot and you need to take off your raincoat. We stop at the Church of Our Lady - Copenhagen Cathedral. This is where Bertel Thorvaldsen's original statue of the Christ is. Completed in 1838. The statute is 10 1/2 feet high. Absolutely breathtaking. A must see. His twelve apostles statues are lovely, too.

Around 1 p.m. we go back to the hotel and our room is ready so we head up the hotel elevator and it is completely full with all our luggage and us. Jamie attempts to get a picture. The three of us barely fit in the elevator with our luggage and the luggage goes from floor to ceiling.
Then we head to Tivoli for lunch before we go on all the rides. It opened in 1843, making it the second oldest amusement park in the world. Among its rides are the oldest still operating rollercoaster Rutschebanen built in 1915.
We go to Wagamama for lunch. It is an Asian restaurant and they have all kinds of dishes. I have a chicken ramen noodle dish.
Next it is off to the rides. Well I should say Jamie and Q go on the rides.
Q's favorite ride is It's a Small World at WDW (not) so I have to have them go on the Hans Christian Anderson ride at Tivoli where I am sure Walt got some inspiration from:
Next they are going on a ride called Vertigo. It is a plane that goes forward, backwards and spins round and round. It makes me sick just watching. They loved it.
The next ride.... the Fatamorgana. It goes way high in the air and spins round and round:

After this next ride, the Monsoon, they decide they have both had enough. This ride put them over the edge and they had to stop for awhile:
I get some Pistachio gelato while they are on the rides.
Next they go on the swings:
Then they decide they need a gelato break:
Here comes the Tivoli Gardens marching band:
Next off to the famous wooden roller coaster. The ride is called The Rollercoaster. Now there is a mountain like the Matterhorn. However this is an old roller coaster and there is actually a brakeman who sits in the middle of the cars and he controls the brakes on the ride while you are riding. OSHA would never allow this in the United States, for sure:

I have a headache just watching all the rides, so we wander back towards the hotel and then Jamie and Q are off to explore on their own around Copenhagen.
They visit Nyhavn which is a 17th century waterfront lined by brightly coloured townhouses.
They come back to the hotel around 9 p.m. and then we go out to dinner in a local restaurant before coming back to the hotel, repacking and then calling it an night. We are leaving the hotel around 11 a.m. tomorrow for the airport.
